Isaac

Just in case you didn't know...

Well its not a Hurricane yet, still just a tropical storm, but it should reach hurricane status tonight.

It keeps going in between becoming a Cat 2 and not, right now, it will only become a Cat 1, but we will see what the morning brings.

It is also projected to be heading for New Orleans, which is about 70 miles West of us.  Our area is only expected to get Tropical Storm type winds (39 to 73 mph) and the brunt of the storm surge, which they are predicting to be between 6 and 12 feet.

Matt and Jimmy just went to the beach to see if anything was happening (we still have clear skies and just a light breeze) and they said the water was really cold (weird, since last week it was like 80 degrees) and some waves, but other than that, nothing interesting.

This has been a very different experience.  Some people booked it out of town this morning, some people are staying, some are buying out the stores, others are sitting on the porches watching the clouds roll in, it'd be easier to know what to do if everyone had the same attitude!

We have prepared as much as we know how, or have read up on.  I would feel better with one more case of water, but we have 3, as well as Kymbree's bath tub full and a couple of jugs and such.  We have a good supply of food... Not much else to do but wait!

I'll let ya know how it goes!
