Hurricane Isaac

Hurricane Isaac could not make up its mind.  The projections kept moving where he would make landfall, one minute it would turn into a Cat 3, the next it would even get to a Cat 1.  Just to be safe, we headed inland, although still in his path, we felt it would be a little safer to be 100+ miles from the shore than 0.3.

On our way out of town, much mike most other people, we drove along the beach to check it out.  The surge was starting to come up, and this parking lot is about 2-3 miles west of "our" beach.  I think the storm actually "HIT" the next day, but already, this parking lots was being taken.

So we went to Hattiesburg, MS to Matt's boss's girlfriends house.  Her name is Crystal and she was SO SWEET to allow our Family, Deb's Family, Nate and Cassie, Jimmy and of course Kevin come crash at her house for a few days.  It was...Interesting.  We had a lot of fun, I think the kids and the boys were getting stir crazy, but you know us women, as long as we can use out mouths, we're GOOD.

Matt's clinical location is the "home base" for a new program being implemented nationwide for Physical Therapy Interns, so they weren't about to miss a web chat... But they weren't about to make it boring either.  They found video of Katrina, played it on the TV, set Brett in front of the tv with his rain coat and a squirt bottle to the side to give the illusion that they were IN the hurricane.  It was quite comical, I believe I got video...

We definitely got some of the rain...

And back home!

Those two poles used to be a little hut, so the roof was blown off.
Thankfully, nothing happened to our house, and truly we could have stayed home and been fine.  The power never even went out, but I am glad we had our little adventure, it was fun to hang out with our friends and get to know them better!
