Grandpa had a Track Meet over in
Baton Rouge, so since we are so close, he flew into New Orleans, drove
here, took Mommy and Me to lunch, then we took a nap while waiting for
Daddy to get home. When Daddy finally got home, we stopped at a
Crawfish place on Grandpa's way out of town on his way to Baton Rouge.
Daddy told Grandpa he needed to be festive for his Team Meeting that night, so we fixed him up with some of our favorite beads...
Then on Friday, after Daddy got home from work, we headed up to Baton Rouge too!
We headed to the track in the late morning, and while we were waiting for the College events to start (it was a combined High School/College meet) we walked around the LSU Campus a little.
We, of COURSE, had to go see Mike...
...Both the Bronze one...
...And the real one.
This is the track, it was different looking, with the middle not being grass, and the 100M straightaway being in the middle of the "field."
Grandpa is the head coach, but his specific events are the Steeple Chase, Decathlon and Pole Vault. The Steeple Chase and Decathlon were on Friday and early Saturday, so we didn't get to see them. It was fun to watch the Pole Vaulting.
Grandpa said with the "field" the way it is, it gets REALLY hot out there. He wasn't a huge fan.
Oh, and that is the LSU football Stadium in the background. Its HUGE. I hope Daddy is able to get us tickets to one of the games this fall.
Well after the meet was over, Grandpa came back to our house to play with me some more. We went to the beach and ate some more yummy food.

sure love having family visit us. Grandma Mitchell comes next week,
right after Mine and Mommy's birthdays, and then Grandpa AND Grandma
Bruce are coming the week after that. I can't wait!
